Variables fields are a temporary fields stored in memory or space reserved in computer memory that can store information. Variables used in the Report Builder are visible only within the Report Builder itself - other areas of this software application cannot use variables that you create for use with reports, and are deleted from computer memory once the report has been generated. Variable fields are typically used for report or database filtering.
